I`ve chosen this book, because I think it sounds really interesting.
It was written by Montague Rhodes James.
In Suffolk there is a house with a small garden wich was built in 1770.When you look out of the window you can see the sea.
A few years ago it was a public house where travellers could eat and slerep. One day Thomson a studen of Cambridge University arrived at this house. He stayed there for a very long time by Mr.andMrs. Betts the owner of this house.
One afternoon when Thomson walked into the country he saw a big white stone. After that he went to a bar and while he was there he asked people about the stone. But they only said, that it has been there for a very long time ad that it brought bad luck.
One day at about 3 o`clock when he studied for university he decided to make a break.
He went out of his room and looked at the others.
Suddenly he found a locked room and he wanted to know what was inside. So he took the key from the receptionand opened the door. He thought that it wasn`t a very interesting , but suddenly he turned around and ran out of it. He thought that there was someone on the bed.
So he went to his own room and made a plan to find out who was the person on the bed.
Thomson stayed there for another week and before he left the house, he said to Mr.Betts that he made a last look into his room, because than he would be sure that he didn`t miss something.
But he didn´t go to his own room. He went to the locked room and opened the door again.
Suddenly he laughed he thought that the person on the bed where only old clothes.
Suddenly the old clothes where behind him with a knife stuck into it`s jacket and a lot of blood stains.
He ran along the corridor to Mr.Betts. He knew that Thomson looked into the locked room so he was very angry with him.
Mr.Betts said that nobody would stay here if he said something. So Thomson promised that he didn't tell something.
Mr.Betts told:
People said a long time ago a rich gentlemen lived there.
One day he would be killed on the place where is standing the white stone.
They put his body into the sea and since that his ghost lived in the locked room.
Thank you for your attention.
