***Winter Landscape-> by Sophia***
This picture looks very cold and unfriendly. There is a little village and in the background are a lot of mountains and forests, everywhere is snow. In the landscape are four houses and a little iced lake. In the foreground is an iceskater and on his left side barks a dog after a little child. The child and the dog have a lot of fun and they have a running competition. In front of the grown up goes another little child with a "Schlitten".I think they are going home because the second little child is looking very tired. Maybe the weather is very windy and of course cold.

♥ WINTERWONDERLAND ♥
On this picture there are 5 children and they have a lot of fun together.
Every children have a wonderful colourful sledge.
In this picture are two very friendly snowmans. On of the children act like me when i was younger.
I ever was lying on the sledge in this position too. On girl with red-orange hair draw her sledge uphill the mountain.
in the picture are four trees and infront of one tree is standing a "birdhouse" and there are 5 birds on it. One child is lying on the floor and it looks like how it is crying. One child is driving with its skies.
So, that`s my description of picture number 5.

Our meeting with a police man
Mr. Hirnschrodt went on to explain that only very few people can have a huge influence on a lot bigger group; in general, there often are 3 groups:
1) a small group of people ("alphas") who are the bosses, the ones who do the talking and come up with the bad ideas
2) a crowd of "neutralists", who do not really participate, they are like "lookers-on" - some of them want to be in the small group with the alphas and start doing silly things. Sometimes, they are afraid of becoming a member of group...
... 3) a small group (max. 3), who are the outsiders, the "weak" characters in the society. Very often, they are a little "different" from the rest of the people, or they can just be easily "hurt" (psychologically and physically)
Then we watched a film that showed various different scenes in a school, where students start bullying a small student and end up beating up two people - the little one and another one who tried to help.
The discussions were intense - many of the kids realised how dangerous it can be to hit people or hurt them in any way - when they´re 14 or older, they might go to jail or have to pay big fines!
Some others noticed that the "weaker" ones in a society need somebody to support them sometimes!!! Hopefully, they will actually do that soon, not just think it!
Once again, thank you Mr. Hirnschrodt for coming to our class and trying to help - it was incredibly interesting for all of us!

This picture shows the late afternoon some days before Christmas Eve because the scene is very peaceful. In this painting I can see a big house with a great deal of snow on the roof. I think it‘s a shop. Behind this shop I can see a part of the city. But there aren‘t many lights on, so I think that isn‘t a big city or it could be a suburb. On the veranda there are a few people with winter clothes.

The Winter Landscape(s)
I am terribly sorry for uploading the pictures soooo late, but I´ve had an extremely long day and only got back to my apartment about half an hour ago (it´s 11.30 right now) - Prof. Windischbauer and I were talking about tomorrow´s meeting.... it´s going to be quite interesting!
But, back to business. Here are the tasks that you can choose from:
1) Look at the pictures below and pick one of them. Then describe what you can see on the picture in as much detail as possible! Use there is/there are/there isn´t/aren´t ... AND describe details of the picture using adjectives, colours, and so on.
2) Write a narrative (= story) about one of the events, things you can see on the pictures. You must think of a title, and decide if you want to create a romantic, thrilling, horror or a nice story. (titles like: "The day Billy broke through the ice", or "The snowstorm", "My ski trip disaster", ...) As you can see, the paintings are mostly from the Middle Ages, so the time you should write in should be the PAST TENSE!
Pic I: A winter landscape by Fridel
(example for description of pic I: There is a man with a young child who is holding a scythe (Sense). He is walking towards his house, past the frozen pond. Next to him, there is a little dark brown dog, running along his left side, barking after the little boy in front of them with a sledge....so, try to use details, ok?)
Picture 2: Avercamp - a masterpiece!
Picture 3: Pieter Bruegel - Landscape with iceskaters and a birdtrap - another masterpiece!
(example beginning for an adventure story for pic 3: It had been a cold night and many people were out on the frozen river that day, when Billy decided, he also wanted to go ice skating. So, he took his skates, told his mum he was leaving and left the house. ... Suddenly, the ice underneath him cracked and he fell in - the water was icy and he felt the pain in his chest (Brustkorb) like pins and needles. What could he do?...)
Picture 4: a more modern version of a winter landscape - for an adventure story perhaps?
Picture 5: Another modern, more child like depiction of a winter landscape...:
All the best, concentrate on writing your text and have fun! I´m really looking forward to seeing your stories or descriptions - they should be finished by Tuesday, I would like to give you some feedback BEFORE Christmas!

!BORING!
I found it very strange, that the teacher get a bad mood, when they come into our class.
The situation in our class isn`t funny, it`s really sad.
A lot of teacher doesn`t like us so much how in the first or second class.
A lot of children realised the problems, but a lot doesn`t.
The teachers are very poor, because 2-4 people in our class doesn`t have some respect of the teachers.
I and a lot of other children arn`t motivated anymore.
It`s a relly shit situation in our class.

"The whispering knights" (Oliver Meister)
In the book there are three children and their names are William, Susie and Martha. They always play together in an old barn. One day they cook a witch's brew. An old woman, Miss Hepplewhite, sees them and tells them about a witch. The witch's name is Mogan le Fay and she lived at a time when knights lived. The barn was the witch's home. After the cooking mysterious things happened. Martha has a bad dream and when she turns on the light she sees a shadow of a witch. In the barn there is a monster with a big tail and large feet with claws. One day Susie finds a parcel with a cake for her but the cake is bewitched. They tell the problems Miss Hepplewhite and she says that the witch Morgan is back. One day Mrs. Steel comes to the village. She has a big black car, a Rolls Royce. When the children see Mrs. Steel they think that she must be Morgan. In night Martha has a bad dream. Next day the children go fishing to the river. Suddenly an old woman comes and takes Martha with her. Susie and William look for Martha and drive to Mrs. Steel's house. They find Martha there and take Martha and run away. Morgan sees that and follows the kids. In the village where the children live is a place with a stone circle named "The whispering knights". The children run to the circle and sit down in the middle of the circle. And then comes a storm. Near the stone circle there is a big river and the witch with her black car drives into it. Next day the people of the village take the car out of the river. But nobody is in the car. The children tell the story to nobody.

He was born in 1962 in Northamton.
In the story is a boy, whose name is Christopher Boon, he is fifteen years old and has Asperger's Syndrom.
It's a murder mystery novel and Christopher wants to find the murderer of Mrs. Shears dog Wellington, who is killed with a gardenfork.
Christopher hates the colours yellow and brown and being touched.
These are some of his Behavioral Problems:
- Not talking to people for a long time
- Not eating or drinking anything for a long time
- Not liking being in really small places with other people
- screaming when he's angry or confused
- smashing things when he's angry or confused
- groaning
- he's fusing to use his toothbrush if anyone else has touched it
- Not eating food if diffrent sorts of food are touching eachother
At the time Mrs. Shears helps his dad and him with the house and the food.
Christopher knows a very good deal about maths and a little about humenbeings.
In the middle of the book he finds an enverlope with many letters from his mum and now he knows that she is in London and he tries to find her.
After a few weeks he comes back with her to his dad and he tells him something that Christopher never thought: his dad killed Wellington gecause he thought that Mrs. Shears has no time for them.
From that time Christopher is afraid of his dad and wants to be at the flat of his mum.
At the end of the book he lives the most time at the flat of his mum but if she'd not here, he has to be at the house of his dad.
I've chosen this book because it seemed to be very nice.
Sometimes it' a litle bit difficult to understand, mostly when he's speaking about starsigns and maths.
But I think it's a really good book and I recommend it to you!
Sherlock Holmes and the mystery of Boscombe Pool
Scotland. After he finished school he studied medicine in university. But to be a doctor was not his dream job.So he wrote many detective stories about Sherlock Holmes. After a beautiful life he died 1930 in the age of 71 years. But now we come to the real story.Mr Mc Carthy was dead. A person hit him with a heavy stone on his head. His son found him dead at Boscombe Pool(is a little area near london). Sherlock Holmes drove to Boscombe Pool, and see that Mr Mc Carthys family was very rich. Sherlock Holmes believe that he knew who have a motive. Mr Mc Carthys son has a motive, because he inherited all the money and the neighbour Mr Turner, because his daughter must married Mr Mc Carthys son. The police took James Mc Carthy,Mr Mc Carthys son into prison. Sherlock Holmes knew that was a mystery. The detective found a little cigarette, where Mr. Mc Carthy was killed.
The only person who smoked was Mr. Turner.
Sherlock Holmes knew that Mr. Turner killed Mr. Mc Carthy , so he went to him. He told the true story about he has been living only for two months and his child Alice who must married James Mc. Carthy.
He said that he cannot see Alice that she must married a person who did not love her.
So Mr. Turner killed Mr. Mc. Carthy at Boscombe Pool.
I suggest the book for all people who loves detective stories because it is very exciting.
And I like the book very much.

- At the trip to a waterpark the bus didn’t work any more. They were standing in the
nonsense!
- The children like Mr. Majeika a lot . He is a wizard.
- It became night and when the children awake, they were in front of the water park!
- A few minutes later, the were paddling in kanues ! Every Kanou takes four people.
- Suddenly Jody, Hamish Bigmore, Pete and Cody fell into the water and a crocodile came .It was a lovely crocodile. It helped them to come out of the water. Then the four children called out “WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!”
- But suddenly there came children, a lot of children and bound them with a rope on a tree. The kidnapper were very ugly, they wanted to eat them. But then it seems as a wonder, because the crocadile came again and sceared them so much that they ran away!
- Then Mr. Majeika came and all drove home!
- I didn’t like anything at this book, because there is nothing what was exciting!
This was my referat about Mr. Majeika and the school trip!
I don’t recommend the book, because it is very booring!!!!!

The locked room
Summercamp Sölktal (by Birgit and Kathi)
At quarter past eight we had to be there because we left at nine o´ clock.
We made a “rest” in Anfelden for half an hour. An hour later we stopped again at a reststop. At about half past twelve we arrived at the “Ödwirt” inn. There a few of the girls stayed and the rest of the classes rode on their bikes to the camp. A little bit later we, the girls who stayed at the “Ödwirt”, also rode on their bikes up to the camp.
There the girls of the 4. S cooked the lunch for the others and after that the boys had to wash dishes.
At three o´ clock the 4. T went mountain biking and the 4. S went climbing. First we learned abseiling and then we climbed around in the climbing hall. The people who liked could climb on time. It was really good fun.
A short time after six o´ clock we had dinner. We had Schnitzel and salad to eat. After that we had to go up to the camp again because there we had a game evening. We played “Mäxchen” and about ten o´ clock the girls who slept by the “Ödwirt” went back to it. We stayed awake till eleven o´ clock then we went to bed.
On the next day we woke up at about quarter to eight. We had breakfast at eight o´ clock. An hour later we left for a whole day tour. We travelled along a street for 15 minutes and then rode and walked up a very steep mountain. We had to walk for one and a half hours till we reached the first hut. There we made a short rest. After the rest we walked to another hut. A few of the people walked further up the hill and the rest of the people walked back to the first hut, the “Schönwetter” hut. There we all met again and walked for one an hour back to our bikes. We needed only ten minutes to cycle down the hill again and 15 minutes to drive back to the “Ödwirt”. We had turkey with vegetables and rice for dinner.
And now we are writing this text.

This story is about Sherlock Holmes, a famous detective, Dr. Watson and a new case which they have to solve.
One day Dr. Watson gets a letter from Sherlock Holmes to come to West-England, because they have to find the murderer of Mc Carthy. The Wave by Dominik
The story deals with a history teacher in Gordon High.
His name is Ben Ross.
In the lesson the students learn about the Nazis, Hitler, the SS regime and concentration camps.
Mr. Ross shows them a film about this.
After it, students ask their teacher: How could Hitler´s followers kill so many people and nobody did anything against it.
Mr. Ross can not answer the question.
At home he thinks about the situation in class and about the students who don´t work very tidily.
He has an idea.
Next day at school Ben writes on the board "strengh trough discipline".
Mr. Ross explains to the students that he wants to make an experiment and they have to follow special rules.
The next slogans are: "strengh trough community" and "strengh trough action".
He calls the experiment the wave.
The students in the history class are very inspires by this.
But one of them, Robert Bilings, who is not good at school and an outsider changes his life completely.
The next mission is that the members of the wave have to request many people to come into their group.
The situation escalates.
People who don´t follow the wave will be expelled and will be beaten.
The headmaster of Gordon High says that the experiment is going to go out of order.
Christi Ben´s wife, Laurie Saunders a student and her family are very bothered about the wave. Laurie persuades David, her boyfriend, that the wave is very dangerous.
David goes on and goes on and he doesn´t know what he does.
After that they go to their teacher and say that he has to stop the experiment.
Next day Ben Ross says to the students that the experiment is over and he only wanted to show them the time of the Hitler area and the second world war.
I chose this book because it is very interesting.
I recommend this book to all people who like exciting stories.

Our summer sports week! By Johanna and Sophia
When the group came back, we were cycling down the hill to the Ödwirt and had our yummy dinner :). Afterwards we were cycling up the hill and had a lot of fun on the "Wuzeltisch" and we were playing "Mäxchen". At ten o'clock the "Ödwirt-girls" went down the hill and went sleeping.
Next day we had breakfast at eight o'clock and then we prepared our lunch-packages.
Afterwards we were cycling to a very cool mountain :/. Then we went at feet to the "Schönwetter-Hütte" and a few minutes later we went higher to another hut. There was snow and it was really cool, because we did our first snowball-fight this year! ;)
Some pupils went higher, but Jojo and I and others went down to the "Schönwetter-Hütte".
Later all of us went down to the bikes. There we were cycling down the rest of the mountain very fast. At home all were having a shower and afterwards all of us went relaxed to the dinner.
These were our first two days! And it was very cool!! :)....................................................................

It´s about time to put some photos online for you, as we`ve already been back for a while - I´m sorry for taking so long, but there have been a lot of things to do, so there was not much time for doing fun stuff for me in the last few weeks! Apart from teaching you guys, of course! ;-)
Oh, by the way, do not forget the vocab check next Thursday! It´s about Units 11-15 in the old book, and the first two (Units 0 & I) in the new one!
See you on Monday, have fun with the pics. Oh, and of course there will be more on the school homepage by the end of next week!ERF
PS.: Try to post your own photographs as well... I´m sure you have taken a lot with your cameras and mobile phones! Would be nice! ERF

Back from the cold... but alive and kicking!
But, in the end, our week in the Sölktal turned out to be a great adventure with some exciting and interesting new things for the kids to get to know - and by coping with the relative cold together, many of the kids became closer than they were before.
Overall, what with having no injuries and only a few people getting colds during our stay in Styria, I would say it was a big success... it definitely brought both the classes closer together, getting some experience in "extreme" sports and helped to develop social contacts!
Pictures will be online soon - but now it's back to business - school's waiting!

The final days of the school year!
As promised I am putting some pics on the blog today. Some are from our trip to the zoo in the lovely city of Haag, some were taken at the class competition on the Thursday of our last week at school. Enjoy them, I think they are very nice!
The mighty tiger relaxing in the sun after being fed---+++ Sophie and Jojo checking the "Fischer" donkeys
The group on the pic to our right liked the pirate ship very much - so they spent a long time hanging in its ropes and playing around there - we even tried to play volleyball on it, but that proved to be really difficult - no one fell off, so that´s quite good!
The pictures below were taken at the sports competition in school - we won the third class competition clearly, after successfully managing to come first in 7 out of 8!!! events!
Well done, 3s! :-)
The biology team came 1st!
So did the maths team!!!
In the end, I would like to show you another picture, which was taken before the competitions... it shows Flo, Julian and Sili of 3s as well as Manuel and Taffi from 3t - this was the team to win the Landesmeisterschaften in gymnastics... they were rewarded by headmaster Christian Schacherreiter in the morning, lesson 3, together with many other students - among them Birgit Schönfelder for having 1s in all her subjects in school - well done, Birgit!
So, more to come from my holidays, but now it´s your turn...

healthy and unhealthy food
Healthy and unhealthy food
When you want to stay healthy you should not eat too much food.Mc Donald´s, Burger King and Italian food are parts of unhealthy food.In the USA they are many fast food restaurants and because of them the American people are too fat.In the USA the people eat 2``Big Mac`s `` every day.
In Europe most people eat vegetables and for the rason they stay healthy and their body stay healthy. But their are people who go to ``meci`` every second day.Coce and sweet drinks are unhealthy and drinks ,water without sugar, and sweet drinks are very healthy.Alcoholic drinks are unhealthy, but non-alcoholic drinks are healthy. The Kebap isn`t healthy but it also isn`s unhealthy because of the salad and tomatoes.
In Austria most of the people eat pizza and Mc Donald`s food but they eat vegetables too.Vegetables are tomatoes, salad corn radis onions and many more. When you eat unhealthy food you are easily out of breath. Or you are out of breath when you carry a heavy bag or dance rock`n roll or run to catch the bus.
For me it is impotant to stay healthy. So I try to eat healthy food.My favourite food is LASAGNE,but I eat vegetables too.

Famous people
What´s good and what´s bad:
A famous person can do many interesting things.
For example: If you area super-star, you have a lot of money and you can buy many things.
You live in an big, beautiful and nice house.
When you go in the street, many people know you and want an autograph from you.
Of course you can meet many famous people.
You can meet George Clooney or Brad Pitt for example.
You can buy the most beautiful and most expencive clothes.
You can wear Manolo Blahnic shoes like Carry Bradshore in the film Sex and The City.
Sometimes it is also difficult to be famous.
You have a lot of fans.
Sometimes the fans get on your nerves.
Reporters always want to get a photo of you and you haven´t got a free time.
You celebrate got a lot of parties and you drink a lot of alcoholic drinks like: Beer, wine, whiskey...................
Some stars take drugs. Elves Presley is an example for that.
When you are a super-star you have a lot of friends but you don´t know who real friends are.
Many friends just stay with you because you are famous.
And you don´t see your family often.
Being famous has many good and many bad sides.
I wouldn´t like to be famous, because my life would to change too much.

Two days in our school!
On Friday we met at 4 p.m. at school. Then Annemarie came (She is a professor at our school). We played games for our classclimate. That was a lot of fun! Especially the game where we took someone on feet and hands and tossed the pupil high and we catched her/him. After that we went to the Aula. There we made two groups and we were doing a competition. Then we played in the gym basketball, volleyball,...
Next we made our beds. Then we had to sleep, but the most of us didn't :-)) ...
It was very cold and the airconditioning was very loud. Next day we had breakfast in the „learning room“. Until 10 a.m. we played basketball and volleyball again. At 10 a.m. we went home.

The children have organised this event together with Herr Professor Fischer in order to spend some fun time together.
Hopefully, everything will go well and all the different tournaments and the disco are good fun.
Tomorrow, the parents can pick up their kids at about 9 at the school - they will be tired but, hopefully, very happy!
Next Friday, after the test, we will go to the IT rooms in school and upload stories and pictures from today´s experience.
So, see you soon,
